SUP Camp - September 7-8, 2019
From Saturday to Sunday afternoon join Julian Ganton and Amanda Stokes in focusing your energy on SUP Yoga, fun, relaxation and marshmallows... vegan marshmallows. Everyone and their pet is welcome from children to older adults. We will be cooking our own meals including fresh vegetables grown right here on the island.

Previous experience not needed. The guide will determine the abilities of the group and provide the necessary instructions.

We are working with local businesses and organisations to promote healthy living in healthy environments.

SUP Acro Yoga
SATURDAY
We meet at 2:00 pm where we will be greeting and getting to know the group at the Algonquin Bridge. Once we're all packed up and ready to get going, we will embark on a short paddle to Snake Island where we will be dropping off our gear. Following that, we can set up camp and get into our Acro FUNdamentals on land (beginner) from around 3:30 - 4 pm. We will take a short break followed by intermediate Acro until 6 pm. Following that, we can partake in some Acro games and jam time. Don't forget the magic hour photos!

By 8 pm we will be sitting down to a delicious vegan/vegetarian dinner with the group cooked on the campfire.

After dinner, you can choose to chill out by the fire, take part in a flow jam or take a board out for an evening paddle until it's time to crawl into the sleeping bag...

SUNDAY
Are you an early riser? You're encouraged to get up for a morning paddle at 7:30 am to witness the abundant wildlife that is very active at this hour including numerous bird species in the surrounding Environmentally Significant Areas.

If you don't make the paddle, that's okay. Kaye will be teaching a morning Yoga class at 8:00 am.

We hope you've worked up an appetite because there will be a cold breakfast spread and warm tea for 9 am.

From 10 am - 11:30 am, Anya, Berkley and Kaye will be teaching group Icarian games.

From 11:30 am - 1:00 pm will be SUP acro with Anya & Kaye on the calm waters of the island lagoons.

We will be eating lunch and tearing down camp from around 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. We will be paddling out shortly after and arriving back at the Algonquin Bridge by about 2:30 pm.

Haven't had enough Acro? We've got you covered. Head to Wards Beach for a beach jam in the sun!

SATURDAY
Get the 3:30 pm ferry to Wards Island. Turn right off the ferry and walk for 5 minutes to our launch area at the Algonquin Bridge where we pack up our gear and paddle to our secret Island location. After spending some time to set up camp and unwind, we'll be guided by Amanda for a Sunset SUP Yoga class in our Aqua Studio.

As we come off the water, a warm camp fire and tea will be waiting. Get in to some dry clothes and connect with the group over warm drinks and yummy vegan treats. We will cook our vegetarian dinner as we enter the night.

SUNDAY
Wake up naturally with the sun for a morning of SUP Yoga. The birds are singing and the urban wildlife is beginning to rise. You may be practicing among Beavers, King Fishers, American Mink, Blue Herons, Turtles and which ever other creatures are stirring. You must be totally aware of your surroundings to see them... or we can just point them out for you. Come off the water for a delicious and healthy breakfast.

Later we will be joined by Inga Breede who will be leading us in a ukulele session. No experience required! We'll refuel mid day with a meal made partly from fresh ingredients grown right here on the island. Once our bellies are full, we'll tear down our campsite and head out for our last little tour around the lagoons. Along the way, we will be talking about the flora & fauna of the area and some interesting historical facts. Did you know the Toronto Island used to be a sandbar peninsula and was seen as a First Nations healing-ground? Even the first European settlers here immediately recognised it's beauty and healing powers.

We will wrap up around 3 or 4 pm near the Wards Island Dock. The Wards Island Cafe is nearby and offers amazing food choices. Take the ferry home or hang out island side for the rest of the day on Wards Island beach for some more well deserved relaxation and fun in the sun!
