STAND UP PADDLEBOARDING LESSON
The introductory lesson is specifically designed for those with little to no experience on the water and is the best way to familiarise oneself with SUP. While taking the stand up paddleboarding lesson, you immerse yourself in the beauty of Toronto Island. Step away from the city on a 10 minute ferry ride and enter a place of beaches, parks and niche cafes in a quiet, natural setting. Once island side, find Wards Beach or the Algonquin Bridge. Check your booking details for location. Both locations are near the neighbourhoods of Wards and Algonquin on the shores of Lake Ontario. Intermediate and advanced levels are also available by request.

The lesson starts with a dry land portion. We go over board anatomy, theory, paddling technique, weather and water safety. Once everyone is suited up, the small group of up to 6 people heads out into the lake with the certified Paddle Canada SUP Instructor for the lesson. There you will learn positioning on the board, paddling in a straight line, turning, balance and many other techniques to help you get the most out of the 75 minutes.
We give some free time at the end for some self discovery and exploration. Once back on shore, you're debriefed and sent on your way to enjoy the beach, park or a meal at one of the local cafe's in the area.

Learning to stand up paddleboard is a unique experience that is gaining popularity around the world and Wards Island is the premier destination in Toronto.
