At Toronto Island SUP, we have a long-standing commitment to working with youth and sharing our passion for the water through stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. Over the years, we have delivered programs such as Kids SUP & Surf, Willow Walk, and initiatives in partnership with the Chill Foundation, supporting children as they learn, build confidence, and explore the natural environment in a safe and engaging way.
Building on this experience, we have developed a distinctive outdoor summer camp that encourages children to be active, develop new skills, and gain confidence on the water. Located on Toronto Island, the camp offers a rare opportunity—just minutes from downtown—for children to immerse themselves in nature, supported by experienced coaches and knowledgeable staff who prioritize safety, learning, and fun.

“Our mission at Island Adventure Camp is to provide kids ages 7 -12 with experiences on the water to develop personal growth, compassion, resiliency and authenticity.”
LEARNING TO PADDLEBOARD AND KAYAK
The core focus of Island Adventure Camp is building confidence and competence on the water through stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. Participants receive expert instruction on balance, paddling technique, maneuvering, and water awareness, progressing at a pace that supports both safety and skill development. When conditions allow, campers may also learn how to navigate small waves and changing water conditions.
Beyond paddling, the camp emphasizes active outdoor learning. Campers explore the island by bike, develop basic outdoor and navigation skills, and are introduced to age-appropriate first aid and water safety concepts. These activities promote physical fitness, resilience, teamwork, and environmental awareness—while ensuring the experience remains engaging, confidence-building, and fun. Campers often look forward to our beach day where we explore the hidden gems and beaches (with on-duty city lifeguards) of the island by bike.
